Teacher of Physical Education

Hours: Full Time

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Mainscale - UPS (£30,000 - £46,525 pa)

Start date: 1st September 2024

The Chase is offering a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to teach Physical Education in a large and energetic department. You must have the ability to teach a range of activities across key stage 3 and 4, in particular invasion games such as netball, hockey, football, gymnastics and dance along with the summer sports of athletics, tennis or cricket. The delivery of examination PE would be advantageous; in particular GCSE PE, BTEC Sport and potentially BTEC Performing Arts Dance level 2. The Chase offers some excellent facilities and resources including two all-weather pitches. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of friendly and supportive department.

Lead Practitioner of Mathematics

Hours: Full Time

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Lead Practitioner Scale 1 to 4 £47,417 - £51,058 pa

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and talented individual to join our experienced and friendly team as a Lead Practitioner within the Mathematics department at The Chase. If you are an enthusiastic, experienced and outstanding mathematics educator, eager for an exciting new challenge in your career we invite you to apply. Our Lead Practitioner will be a key player in shaping the future of education within the department and across the wider school. We are seeking a team player with excellent communication skills who is a passionate about being in the classroom and inspiring both students and colleagues.

Within the department we believe in developing students mastery of mathematics. The ideal candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and a desire to improve teaching pedagogy across the faculty and have a keen interest in working with the faculty leader to continue to develop the mathematics curriculum. Experience teaching either A-Level Maths or Core Maths to post 16 is desirable but not essential.

The main responsibilities of the role:

  • To work closely with the faculty leader in developing departmental pedagogy. This will include delivering collaborative planning sessions and continuing to develop the curriculum.
  • To support TLR holders in ensuring full coverage and pedagogy informed by best practice, teaching for mastery and quality first, inclusive teaching.
  • To be a mentor for ECTs within the department.
  • To continue to foster the culture of positivity within the department and inspire and support colleagues as needed.
  • To maintain a positive and forward-looking team-based approach to ensuring the best possible provision for all students.

Faculty Leader of English

Hours: Full Time

Salary: Mainscale - UPS plus TLR1b (£30,000 - £46,525 plus £11,409 pa)

Lead Exam Invigilators & Exam Invigilators

Lead Exam Invigilators - Hourly rate £13.95

Exam Invigilators - Hourly rate: £13.27

Contract & hours: Casual - as and when required

We are looking for suitably qualified and dedicated Lead Invigilators & Exam Invigilators to be part of a team to provide support for the Examination Office. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and fair administration of external and internal examinations to ensure the students have the best possible conditions in which to meet the requirements of the examination boards during each examination series. 

You will be required during the Exam seasons. 

Duties include:

  • To support the security of the examination rooms, exam papers, scripts and materials;
  • Dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures;
  • Checking attendance during examinations and communicate with Examination Office as needed;
  • Collecting and collating scripts at the end of the examination.

Our Art Department teaches a variety of disciplines including painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture.
