We are aware of the recent announcement regarding the proposed closure of Malvern St James at the end of this term. This news will come as a shock to many families across our community. For students, parents and carers, it may bring uncertainty and a great deal of concern about what comes next.
As a school at the heart of this community, we feel it is important to acknowledge this moment with openness and care. Our thoughts are with all those affected - particularly the students whose education and sense of stability may feel disrupted and the staff whose dedication and commitment have supported them.
We understand that families may now be considering next steps over a relatively short period of time. There may be particular concerns depending on your child’s stage of education. For those in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, continuity of courses, examination preparation and subject choices will be especially important. For students preparing to enter Year 10, ensuring the right pathways and options remain available will be a key priority.
We want to offer reassurance that we are here to support our local community during this time. We currently have a small number of places available across a range of year groups, including our Sixth Form. Our experienced staff are well placed to guide and support students in continuing their studies
If you would like to explore your options, we encourage you to look through our website to learn more about our school, curriculum, pastoral care and wider opportunities. Our priority, as always, is the wellbeing and success of young people in our community.
