What are the entry requirements?

Grade 6 or above in GCSE Chemistry or GCSE Combined Science (G6-G6) and at least a G5 in mathematics.
 

What does the course involve?

Throughout Chemistry we investigate elements and compounds and study how these basic materials of the Universe react and change the world around us.
Chemistry develops logical thinking, problem solving skills and investigative skills, which are invaluable for any career.

What can this course lead to?

It is essential in order to follow a degree course in chemistry, medicine, pharmacy and veterinary science. These are a small selection of courses with direct links. UCAS will give you further guidance. The course is also an excellent precursor to degrees and apprenticeships in Applied Chemistry and related programmes, such as Engineering, Sport Studies, Beauty Therapy, Applied Biology, Agriculture, Animal Management, Countryside Management, Environmental Science, Equine management or Horticulture.

Chemistry is the right choice for you if:

  • You wish to be taught in class sizes of typically 12-20 pupils by highly experienced teaching staff in well-equipped laboratories.
