A Level Examination Performance 2023

A Level Examination Performance 2023

Once again the Chase’s outstanding Sixth Form has produced another fantastic set of A Level results this summer. A quarter of all A Level entries resulted in either an A* or A grade with 83% of all entries achieving an A*-C grade.

There were many tremendous performances from the students including 9 students who achieved at least 2 A* grades at A Level. Molly Weston achieved 3 A* grades and 1 A grade and will be studying English Literature at Cambridge University. Katherine Nisbet achieved 2 A* grades and 1 A grade which confirms that she has secured her place at Oxford University to study History of Art. Other notable performances include Sakura Dow, Mairi Driscoll and Isobel Kirby who all achieved 3A* grades.

Mike Fieldhouse, Headteacher at The Chase is delighted with the performance of this cohort of students.

‘Congratulations to all of our students who have again surpassed all expectations and who should be very proud of their achievements. After all of the disruption caused by the pandemic during the past few years, we were concerned that this may have had a detrimental impact on the students academic performance. As this was the first time the students had experienced external examinations, we were not too sure what to expect from them. Stress and anxiety levels were certainly higher than in previous years which is not surprising, considering the pressure placed on their young shoulders. Once again, a record number of students have secured a place at their first choice university or on a higher level apprenticeship which is always our main aim in gauging success at the end of Year 13. We wish them all well in their future lives’.
