Michael J WoodsFrom the Director of Sixth Form

I am extremely proud of the Sixth Form at the Chase. Students and staff work together to achieve consistently excellent results and they do so without sacrificing any of the marvellous extra-curricular, charitable and other enrichment programmes that continue to make Sixth Form such an attractive place in which to learn.

The leadership skills fostered lower down the school bear fruit in the many and varied responsibilities assumed by our Senior Student team. The Head Boy, Head Girl and Deputies, along with a team of volunteer senior prefects, help maintain our ethos of hard work and caring interdependence. Such is the school's confidence in its Sixth Form students that some of them sit on interview panels for senior staff appointments, and are involved in aspects of the governing body's committees.

I do hope that you will decide, if it’s right for you, to continue your post-16 study at The Chase. Whether you are one of our Year 11 students, or someone currently at another school or college, you will find that The Chase Sixth Form is a stimulating environment.

Please come to see us at our Open Evening on the Wednesday 30th January 2013. You will be able to speak to students and staff about the courses that interest you and to collect departmental leaflets.

Whatever your abilities, interest or aptitudes, The Chase has a great deal to offer. Among the most successful Sixth Forms in Great Britain, it boasts an outstandingly successful relationship between staff and students. Consistently acknowledged in national league tables for its excellence of attainment in AS/A2 and BTEC, the achievements of our students are outstanding. The schools last OFSTED inspection in 2008 rated our Sixth Form as "outstanding" in every regard. This does not mean, though, that we are complacent. We always strive to improve and believe that this is what students really like.

    VIth Form Students and Staff

We have a very good range of courses on offer, including BTEC at levels 2 and 3 as well as the most usual array of AS and A2 programmes. The Chase also offers Sixth Form students an excellent enrichment programme beyond the classroom. We offer Italian, Japanese and Latin electives, along with drama, debating, Young Enterprise, Ten Tors expeditions, Duke of Edinburgh Gold expeditions, a massive range of sporting opportunities, an Amnesty International group, not to mention a host of foreign trips to complement those within these shores to lectures, theatres and places of interest. Carol Ann Duffy, the poet Laureate accompanies a cultural trip to Italy each February.

I hope that you will want to join us in being part of highly motivated team of students and staff who work together in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect to make The Chase Sixth Form Comprehensively successful in its pursuit of excellence.

    Exam Results Day!

I look forward to meeting you and working with you in the near future.
