THE CHASE’S ONLINE AUCTION OPENS FOR BIDDING
What do David Walliams’ publisher, the Chase Head Teacher and Malvern Theatres have in common? Each have donated two lots for The Chase Community Auction which opens for online bidding at noon on Friday 12th April at https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/thechasecommunityauction
There are over 40 signed books amongst the 100+ auction lots including David Walliams’ The Midnight Gang and Bad Dad. There are also signed copies of The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket (now a Netflix series), Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize winner David Almond’s A Story for Ella Grey and a copy of Mary Poppins illustrated by Children’s Laureate Lauren Child.
Head Teacher, Mike Fieldhouse, is offering afternoon tea at his home as well as a chauffeur service to the Year 11 Prom at Stanbrook Abbey in a Chase minibus. “It’s been fun watching the lots come in,” said Mr Fieldhouse. “We have a very talented and generous community who have donated items such as a will writing service, hand-made jewellery, crochet lessons, cycle road safety training and a lampshade making workshop,” said the Head.
Many local organisations and businesses have donated auction lots. One can bid on a Bronze Membership or a pair of cinema tickets to Malvern Theatres, family passes to Croome Court, Batsford Arboretum, Eastnor Castle or Bletchley Park as well as a variety of experiences such as a Virgin Thrill Sports Car Experience, a tour of The Cotswold Gin Distillery and Afternoon Tea for Two at Witley Court. There are also vouchers for Schooltogs, Bahoo and Boden.
Anyone over the age of 18 may bid. Visit https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/thechasecommunityauction for complete listings. The Chase Community Auction closes on Friday 17 May at 8pm. All funds raised will go to The Chase to purchase classroom teaching equipment and to ensure that students with limited means are able to access school trips to theatre productions, concerts and science fairs.
