Cross Country Triumph

Posted on 23/01/2019 Cross Country Triumph

A wonderful Saturday morning at Top Barn, Worcester for the County Cross Country. The Chase had a number of athletes who had qualified and the race was on for the National Finals. Tom Alston, Malachi Cashmore, Holly Love and Harry Foreman were all running in the senior races which were first to start. Malachi Cashmore had a strong start and maintained his pace with the front runners. He took his time and kept to his race plan to come from a five second deficit to overtake the Heart of Worcester College Runner and finish strongly over the rest of the group to be crowned Senior Boys Cross Country Champion. Tom Alston came in 10th and Harry Foreman 12th. Holly Love maintained control throughout her race dominating a field of 12 to finish Senior Girls Cross Country Champion. Both Malachi and Holly will compete on 16th March in the National Finals in Leeds. Good luck!

The Junior boys had a large amount of qualifiers with two students from The Chase coming in the top 12, Matthew Roberts finishing top of the pack in 10th and Arty Wilson–Spence coming in a strong 12th.

Well done to the rest of our runners! Training starts for next year!

Thank you to Mr Thomas for organising the runners and vests for the Malvern Team.
