Organisation & Pastoral
Introduction
"Students receive outstanding pastoral support and care, as a direct result of the school's nurturing environment. OFSTED 2009
"Yesterday we had a letter from you congratulating our son on his performance in Year 7. We were really pleased and also glad that his effort has been noticed. I think parents worry sometimes that their children will get ‘lost amongst the crowd' and it is nice that this isn't happening at The Chase."
The school is organised in three sections, the responsibility for which is as follows:
Lower School (Years 7 - 9): Mr J Harrington (Head of Lower School)
Middle School (Years 10 and 11): Ms S Wilson (Head of Middle School)
Sixth Form Centre (Years 12 and 13): Mr M Woods (Director of Sixth Form)
For the care of students, the whole school is divided into year groups, each the responsibility of a Year Leader (YL).
Year 7: Mrs B Saunder Year 10: Mrs C McMahon
Year 8: Mrs H Jennings Year 11: Mr P Roberts
Year 9: Miss H Owen
Year 12: Dr E Broomhead
Year 13: Mr R Williams
In response to the Children Act 1992, the school acknowledges the rights of all those with a legal "parental responsibility" for students to consult the Year Leader by appointment and request normal school information.
