Admissions
Admissions Procedure
The Year 7 Published Admission Number (PAN) for 2010/2011 is 270. The Local Authority (LA) received 453 applications for 2009/2010 academic year indicating The Chase as first, second or third choice.
Parents seeking a place for their children at The Chase are required to complete a WORCESTERSHIRE LA COMMON APPLICATION FORM. This must be returned to the LA by 6 November 2009. For most students this will happen automatically via their Primary schools. Parents are strongly advised to read Worcestershire County Council's Information for Parents Booklet 2010/2011, to make sure that they fully understand the admissions criteria and procedure for the school that they wish to apply for.

Admissions to schools during the year outside the normal round of Admissions
Generally, pupils only transfer from one school to another when there has been a change of home address.
In respect of applying for school places other than at the normal time of entry to the school, Worcestershire County Council Admissions Team will co-ordinate admissions to all schools in Worcestershire, including all Voluntary Aided, Foundation and Academy Schools.
The procedure for in-year admissions is as follows:
1. Parent/Carers to obtain an application form (CA1), from any of the following sources;
- Child's current school (if in Worcestershire).
- School being applied for.
- Worcestershire Hub Centre (Tel 01905 822700)
- Download form from website (www.worcestershire.gov.uk)
2. Parent/Carer to discuss the reasons for the move with the current school, complete the application form and ensure form is counter-signed by current Headteacher (if already attending a Worcestershire School).
3. The Parent/Carer should then forward the form onto the Local Authority Admissions Team to be processed.
4. The Local Authority will write to parents, within 10 school days, of form being received to notify of the decision. Where it is not possible to offer a place, parents will be notified of the right of an appeal, and in most cases, an alternative school will be offered.
5. If there are insufficient places for all applications received at a time, then priority will be decided in accordance with the published admissions criteria for the school.
Please be aware that some schools may well already be full at the time of your application.
Parents or Carers seeking to transfer to a school that does not involve a house move, or where there is no need for an immediate move, need to be aware that any date set for joining the new school may be after the next term or half term holiday and that parents/carers are responsible for ensuring their child continues to receive the appropriate education in the interim.
Students wishing to join the Sixth Form should contact The Chase directly.
