Next Meeting: Tuesday 18th September 2012
by The Chase - Thursday, 13 September 2012, 03:09 PM

Everyone is very welcome to attend our next meeting on Tuesday 18th September 2012.

This will be an informal meeting and if you haven’t been to a Chase Association meeting before this is your ideal opportunity to come along and find out what we do and how you can help us to help your school and your children!

We have a busy time ahead of us and as well as discussing requests for bursaries and bids for funding that  have been received since the last meeting we will be planning our Events for 2012/13.

The meeting will be held in the Staff Room at 7.30 p.m. To find the Staff Room enter the school through the main doors and walk along the wide corridor, past reception.  After the long windows on the right hand side, there is a door into the Staff Room.

If you are a new Year 7 parent this is a great opportunity to come along, meet other parents and find out what we do!

We look forward to meeting you!

Recent Events

Friday 9th December  2011 Christmas Fair.  We are delighted to announce that the fair raised over £2500 for the school!

Thank you very much to all who attended the fair and to those who sent in contributions.

A huge thank you is due to everyone who helped on the day with the setting up, the clearing up and the running of the event .

A special mention must go to all the local businesses who donated prizes for the Raffle especially B&Q who donated Gifts worth £200.

Well done to all concerned

Friday 8th July 2011. We held the Summer Fair in the evening, on a day which started out very wet but ended fine and sunny if a little blustery. We moved many of the stalls indoors due to the uncertain weather but by the evening people were able to enjoy the bouncy castles and the barbeque outdoors as planned. We are delighted to announce that the fair raised over £2000 for the school. Thank you very much to all who attended the fair and to those who sent in contributions. A huge thank you is due to everyone who helped on the day with the setting up, the clearing up and the running of the event. A special mention must go to Sue Stacey who was the driving force behind this year's fair. Well done to all concerned!

Tuesday 14th June 2011.

Our last Committee Meeting of the year was largely taken up by the final preparations for the Summer Fair. We also looked forward to the opportunities that next year will bring and how the Chase Association can carry on supporting the school and its pupils in these challenging times.

Tuesday 10th May 2011.

Another large turnout for our Committee Meeting. It is so reassuring to know that The Chase Association is thriving again. Our main topic for discussion was the Summer Fair. This year it is being organised by Sue Stacey. Look out for more information via the school newsletter and mass email system.

Wednesday 9th March 2011.

We had a very successful Committee Meeting with many more members than usual present and the good news is that the date of the summer fair has now been fixed!

Chase Association - Who We Are, and What We Do
by The Chase - Monday, 17 October 2011, 04:12 PM

On behalf of the Chase Association welcome to a new school year.

Who We are and What We Do

  • The Chase Association is the parent teacher association for The Chase and is run by volunteers from the staff and parents.
  • As a parent or guardian of a child at the Chase you are automatically a member of the Chase Association.
  • We are the charity that raises funds through events and donations to provide extra facilities and equipment for the school and bursaries for students.

  • The school will be especially grateful for our fund-raising efforts in the coming year due to the widely publicised budget-cuts.

Chase Association - How to Get Involved
by The Chase - Monday, 17 October 2011, 04:11 PM

How to get involved with the Chase Association

We have about 7 meetings throughout the year, plus an occasional extra meeting (often in a local pub!) to discuss big events such as the Christmas Fair and the Summer Fair. Last year we had a big push to recruit new members to help us and we are extremely grateful to those who joined us for the support they are already giving us with running events. However, as we all lead such busy lives, not everyone gets to every meeting and we still need new members to keep the ball rolling.

If you are unable to make it to our meetings you can still help us!

Working on the Chase Association in a school of this size means that our regular fund raising events such as the Summer and Christmas fair require many willing helpers and we are always amazed at how many of you (parents and teachers alike) turn out each time to give us your support on the day. We are really grateful for this and without your support the events would not run so smoothly.

Lost Property

Named lost property is sent to Pupil Reception in the first instance. Students will receive a message via their Form Tutor to go and collect lost items. THIS CAN ONLY HAPPEN IF ALL ITEMS ARE NAMED - INCLUDING COATS AND PE KITS.

If anyone can help running lost property pick up sessions at school, please contact the Chase Association.

Chase Association - Bursaries
by The Chase - Monday, 17 October 2011, 03:58 PM

Bursaries

Any student wishing to attend a course, special event, or something which helps with personal development is eligible for a bursary. During the past year we have provided up to £100 to help students to attend a wide variety of courses. These are just a few examples: a tennis coaching course, an orchestral workshop, a musical development course, a physics course at Nottingham University, a sailing course and a Guide trip to Mexico. What a wide range of interests the Chase students have! Please write to us (via main school reception) if you would like to apply or email us at the address given under the "Contact Us" tab at the top of the page.
